About Us

Three go Travelling is, me Sarah, my partner Ric and our Border Terrier, Reg.

Ric is the Driver, whilst I tend to point him in the direction to travel, as Chief Navigator and Planner. Most other chores are shared, equally! Meanwhile, Reg (and Albi before him) are simply chauffeured around from place to place, walked and fed, even towed in the bike trailer and the kayak, we had before, they tend to look like they’re having the time of their lives and drawing attention.

In June 2019, we were lucky to be loaned a brand new Etrusco T7400QBC Motorhome by the Erwin Hymer Group for a year. At the time we had just left our jobs and downsized our home to a flat and renting it out. We also had our first Border Terrier, Albi.

We had Albi for almost eleven years and he travelled with us to many places, first in a tent, then in our Volkswagen Transporter, before setting off with us in the Motorhome. Unfortunately, Albi, passed away, after a very short illness in Spain in 2020.

Reg became the new member of the team, in March 2020 at 8 weeks and 1 day old. He is not a replacement for Albi, and he reminds us of that every day, as he is so different!

Our motorhome is called Nortia. We wanted to name her something fitting and Nortia was a goddess of the Etruscan people, whose influence was time, fate, destiny and chance (a fitting title).

Our tour of Europe was brought to an end in 2020, by the global Coronavirus pandemic after 9 months on the road, covering 24 countries.

We set off from Darlington, County Durham, where we collected to motorhome and dropped off our hired car and after a slow tour south, to see the family, we went through the Channel Tunnel to France and on to Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Italy, France, Monaco, France, England, Scotland, Wales, England for a catch-up with family, back to France, Spain, Gibraltar, France, England and Lockdown 1.

After Lockdown 1, we were able to get out and about and spent four months travelling England and Wales, before returning for Lockdown 2 ( 5th November to 2nd December 2020) and Lockdown 3 (26th December 2020 to 12th April 2021). We set off on our #oneyearlate trip in June 2021.

In February 2022, we set off to Europe and spent 86 days travelling throughout France, Spain and Portugal, returning in May 2022. We spent May sorting out a few chores including our first MOT and have just headed off on a tour of Wales and Southern England.
